Getting Here
As proud holders of a Green Tourism Gold Award, sustainable tourism is at the heart of our business. We're keen to encourage guests to help minimise their carbon footprint by leaving the car at home and arriving by train, wherever possible.
Getting to the The National Forest region is easy from most of England, with excellent rail links to many parts of the country, as well as to the main airports. Rail travel can be less stressful and even faster than arriving by car.
5% discount for guests arriving by public transport
We’re proud to hold the Good Journey Mark encouraging car-free holidays. We offer a 5% discount on any holiday if you travel to the National Forest by train, coach or bus.
You can plan your car-free journey here.
Arriving from overseas
Birmingham and East Midlands Airports are just a short distance from the National Forest. Guests arriving at East Midlands can catch a bus the short distance to Melbourne or Castle Donington, to start their holiday.
Guests arriving at Birmingham Airport can take a train to Lichfield from the airport, with a short change in Birmingham.

Manchester Airport
We suggest that guests arriving at Manchester Airport catch a train to Tutbury, with just one easy change in Crewe.

Heathrow and London Airports
Guests travelling from Heathrow can catch a train or tube into London and then take a direct train from Euston station to Lichfield station. You will need to change stations in London, so might like to break your journey with an overnight stop in London first.
