Riding an electric bike is just like riding a normal bicycle. There's no throttle nor other complicated technology to master – simply pedal and click.
As you pedal, the electric motor and sensors detect how much assistance you need. As you cycle you can choose more or less assistance, simply by selecting a different power level, with the click of a button. Much like gears, the assistance is provided in a gentle and measured way, with no lurching nor explosive bursts of power.
To comply with UK legislation electric bikes are restricted to assist up to 15 mph and have a maximum 250 watt power unit. They can legally be ridden on the public highway, cycle paths, shared cycle ways and bridleways – in fact anywhere you can ride a conventional bicycle.
