WELCOME TO THE NATIONAL FOREST
The National Forest
Welcome to the National Forest. Perfectly situated in the centre of England, and covering 200 square miles, the National Forest is spread over three counties. Although only 25 years old, the Forest offers a varied and changing landscape, rich in culture and history. Since its creation began in the early 1990s, over eight and half million trees have been planted and there are more than 400 woodland areas for you to discover – both ancient and more recent plantings. Many miles of quiet tracks have been developed throughout the Forest, offering a peaceful landscape to explore.

Our cycling holidays will take you to some of the highlights of the region. The National Memorial Arboretum, Bosworth Battlefield, the breweries of Burton on Trent, Ashby Castle, historic Calke Abbey and of course the National Forest itself are all within easy reach on a cycling holiday in the National Forest.
