ITINERARY

DAY 1: Your short break starts close to the market town of Market Bosworth. We will meet you at your first hotel and ensure that the bikes are fitted to you and answer any questions. The area is a maze of small lanes and country pubs, just perfect for an evening ride.

DAY 2: The first stop today is Twycross Zoo, renowned for it's primate conservation programmes. It's the only zoo in the UK where you will see all the species of great ape. It's also a great place to watch the snow leopards, whilst enjoying a coffee in the Himalaya Centre. Your electric bike holiday continues past the grade one listed St John Moore building. Tucked away down a quiet lane and designed by Christopher Wren, this fabulous building is now a thriving heritage centre and primary school. It's a short cycle ride from here to the little village of Snarestone. Sitting on the Ashby Canal, the Globe Pub in Snarestone makes a great stop-off for a great lunch and a pint. Alternatively, enjoy a coffee and cake at the lovely Snarestone Alpaca Farm. Your next stop on this electric bike holiday is the lovely Shackerstone steam railway station, the starting point of the Battlefield Line. Set by the side of the canal, this is a lovely place for a wander. Time your journey well and you can even hop aboard a train for the next part of your trip!

DAY 3: Start your day with a wander around Market Bosworth. It's a lovely little English town and very cycling friendly. On the last Thursday of each month it is home to a bustling farmers market, just perfect for sourcing ingredients for a picnic. A short cycle ride from here will take you to the Bosworth Battlefield Centre, which tells the tale of the Battle of Bosworth and the death of King Richard III. Just around the corner is another of the stations on the Bosworth Battlefield line. Here you can watch a glass blower at work. You will meet the canal again at Sutton Cheney Wharf, where you will find a busy tea shop by the canal tow path. Cheese lovers may prefer to wait until they reach the small cafe and shop of Sparkenhoe Cheese. The cheese is produced on the farm and in high demand from some of the most prestigious cheese merchants and delicatessens in the UK. Your final stop is a wonderful craft centre, where you will find the works of many local crafts people, as well as a full programme of workshops.
